Why electrolytes are a game changer

When you sweat you don't just lose water — you lose sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride. Those minerals carry the electrical signals that fire your muscles and keep your heart rate steady. As they drain away you get the classic mid-WOD wall: cramping, heavy legs, a racing heart and foggy focus — even when your fuel and your fitness are perfectly fine.

Pre-load
One serving with water before you warm up — start the session already topped up, especially in a hot box.
During · 45 min+
Sip steadily
Anything over ~45 minutes or heavy sweat: small sips between runs and stations. Don't chug — drip-feed it.
Right after
Rehydrate
A final serving to replace what you lost, alongside your protein, so the next session doesn't start in a hole.

Rule of thumb → if your kit is soaked or you can see salt on your skin, you're losing more than water. Add electrolytes.
